Laboratory of Mitochondrial Biogenesis International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw

offers research positions for PhD students

p style="text-align: left;">Prof. Agnieszka Chacinska’s Laboratory is seeking for highly motivated and talented individuals who will be recruited for a PhD student position to investigate fundamental biological processes involved in mitochondrial biogenesis within the projects awarded by the National Science Centre – OPUS and MAESTRO Programmes, and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education Ideas Plus Programme. The laboratory is located in the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw (www.iimcb.gov.pl) – one of the top ranked Polish research institutes.

We offer the opportunity to work in the international team of young and open-minded scientists with multiple domestic and international collaborations. Our research interests concern mechanisms of protein sorting in mitochondria, cytoplasmic systems caring for precursors of mitochondrial proteins and a crosstalk between the transport of mitochondrial proteins, oxidative stress and cellular protein homeostasis. We use diverse model systems such as yeast, human cells, fish Danio rerio and worm Caenorhabditis elegans. We are interested in fundamental cellular mechanisms in physiology as well as in pathology and ageing. Our recent achievements include papers published in Nature and PNAS.

Please send your application by e-mail as soon as possible, but not later than June 30th, 2016, to the following address: This email address is being protected from spambots.
