Laboratory of Protein Structure seeks Research Specialist (full time position) to work in a large multinational consortium project that aims at the development of antiviral substances for treatment of COVID-19. Laboratory interest

Research of the Laboratory of Protein Structure focuses on the structure and mechanism of proteins involved in the processing of  genetic information ( The primary methods are protein crystallography, cryo-electron microscopy and protein biochemistry. The group also has a long track record of tight collaborations with pharmaceutical industry in drug development. The person employed for the advertised position will be responsible for the determination of crystal and cryo-EM structures of viral protein in complex with inhibitors (potential antiviral drugs). The structural information will be used to determine the mode of action of the inhibitors and to improve their properties, so that they can be developed into drugs.

Deadline for applications is June 1st, 2020. Preferred job starting date is on or after July 15th, 2020.

  • MSc degree in biology, biotechnology or related area of science,

  • High motivation, analytical skills and independent thinking,

  • Ability to work in a team, good organization of work,

  • Good written and oral communication skills in English and Polish,

  • Hands-on experience in protein purification and molecular biology techniques; experience with protein crystallography and/or cryo-EM will be a plus.


We offer:

  • Employment contract for 15 months, with the possibility of an extension

  • Monthly gross (brutto) remuneration approximately: 5630 - 8360 PLN, depending on the experience of the candidate
