Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB), Warsaw, headed by Jacek Jaworski, Prof. is looking for a PhD student. You will join the project entitled “The role of mTOR-Brg1 interaction in normal and aberrant neuronal activity” carried out as the MAESTRO grant (UMO-2020/38/A/NZ3/00447) of the National Science Centre, Poland.

The project aims to characterize in detail the influence of mTOR on Brg1 cellular functions in activated neurons and the role of mTOR-dependent Brg1 phosphorylation in the regulation of neuronal activity in physiology and pathology.

As a PhD student you will be responsible for conducting research including: preparation of zebrafish lines, morpholino injections, analysis of zebrafish brain activity using light-sheet microscopy, analysis of zebrafish behavior, experiments with cultured in vitro neurons and analysis of gene expression and protein-protein interactions. The successful candidate will also participate in data analysis, presentation of the results at the International meetings and manuscript writing.
