An article by Honorata Czapinska, PhD, and Matthias Bochtler, PhD, of the Structural Biology Laboratory, has been published in the prestigious Angewandte Chemie, the journal of the German Chemical Society (GDCh), one of the top chemistry journals in the world. iNEXT Discovery 2nd Annual Scientific Meeting - thank you for your participation

The iNEXT Discovery 2nd Annual Scientific Meeting - is over! During the two-day event, which was attended - stationary and online - by more than 180 people, there were a total of 12 lectures in 4 scientific sessions, two series of short talks with Q&A section and an evening poster session. Special guests were Prof. Brenda Schulman of the Max Planc Institute of Biochemistry and Prof. Leonid Sazanov of the Institute of Science and Technology.

In the latest EMBO Reports (Science & Society section) we can read about the key role of small research infrastructures in the creation of scientific knowledge. It emphasis its importance and the need to recognize the diversity of contributions to research. The article, is the result of a discussion among members of the EU-LIFE Core Facilities working group.

It is with great pleasure that we announce that the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw, by decision of the Minister of Education and Science, has again been awarded the highest scientific category A+. This success is due to the joint work and efforts of the scientists, management, and administration.

The heat wave in Poland seems to have no end in sight. All the more reason to read the new publication under GRIEG grant that looks at how animals transform cellular programs to survive the cold.

The scientists from the Laboratory of Protein Structure collaborated with Joe Peters group from Cornell University to study the structure of mechanism of prototypic E. coli Tn7 TnsB. The findings are avaiable in the recent publication Molecular Cell.

A workshop for representatives of Polish DIOSCURI Centers was held in Munich at the headquarters of the Max Planck Society on July 11-12.
