Young Scientists Conference on Molecular and Cell Biology took place at IIMCB

Young Scientists Conference on Molecular and Cell Biology, organized by IIMCB PhD students and staff members, was held on April 11, 2019. We hosted talks from invited keynote speakers: Peter Cherepanov (The Francis Crick Institute, United Kingdom), Thomas Carell (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Germany), Holger Stark (Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, Germany) and Jacek Kolanowski (Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences, Poland). The keynote lectures were followed by talks given by 11 exceptional young scientists - MSc and PhD students from all over Poland. We also held a poster session with 58 student-submitted posters chosen based on short abstracts. Overall, more than 150 people attended this one-day event.

Thanks to the Conference sponsors, we were able to organize contests for the best talk and best posters, voted for by the conference participants.

Best talk winner:

Kacper Walentynowicz, Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology, Poland

Best poster contest winners:

- Karol Nowosad, Medical University of Lublin, Poland & Postgraduate School of Molecular Medicine, Poland

The organizing committee would like to congratulate the winners and thank the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw and sponsors for their support, the speakers for their inspiring lectures and all participants for the incredible atmosphere during this event. We hope to see you next year!
