Janusz Bujnicki and Vladimir Korzh recognized in the Stanford/Elsevier report

The latest report by Stanford University and Elsevier has included Prof. Janusz Bujnicki and Vladimir Korzh, PhD, from IIMCB among the top-cited scientists in 2023. The Index “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators” is based on Scopus data and has been published annually since 2019.

Prof. Janusz Bujnicki leads the Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Protein Engineering. His interdisciplinary research combines theoretical and experimental approaches, focusing particularly on determining and designing the 3D structures of RNA molecules and studying their interactions with proteins and small molecules. His team is widely recognized for the development of computational tools for structural bioinformatics: metaservers for protein structure prediction, ModeRNA and SimRNA for RNA modeling, and databases related to nucleic acid metabolism, particularly MODOMICS.

Vladimir Korzh, PhD, works in the Laboratory of Neurodegeneration. His research focuses on the developmental biology of the zebrafish, particularly on the regulation of genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying the formation of the nervous system, especially the ventricular system of the brain. His efforts have led to significant improvements in research methodology, including transgenesis in non-mammalian vertebrates and single molecule studies in vivo. Through his research, we can study developmental mechanisms in greater detail as development unfolds in the living animal.
