“My main tasks will be to support the Institute's Board of Directors in organizing research and representing our research teams. A priority will be to effectively communicate the needs of researchers, who are the foundation of the Institute's success, as measured by the quality of research. I will want to put emphasis on further building synergies between our research groups and developing cooperation with leading centers in the world, as well as the biotechnology industry,” said Prof. Marcin Nowotny, taking over the position of Deputy Director for Science.

Outgoing Deputy Director Prof. Jacek Jaworski summed up the passing term: "I hope that over the last six years, I have contributed to making IIMCB a thriving Institute and a respected workplace," he said. "Among the most significant achievements, I would highlight the fact that, together with Professor Gracjan Michlewski, we successfully engaged group leaders in greater integration and collaboration. This was crucial for establishing a cohesive research program, which became the foundation for the development of the International Research Agenda RACE-PRIME. Today, this program stands as one of IIMCB’s most significant joint initiatives," summarized Professor Jaworski.

IIMCB Director Professor Marta Miączyńska congratulated both scientists and expressed her gratitude to Professor Jacek Jaworski for his significant contribution to the Institute's day-to-day work and strategic development over the past six years. "I am convinced that prof. Marcin Nowotny’s experience and expertise will contribute to the further development of our scientific research and the strengthening of international cooperation," concluded Prof. Miączyńska.
