IIMCB International Advisory Board met in Warsaw
The annual meeting of the International Advisory Board (IAB) - a key event in the calendar of the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB) - was held in Warsaw on April 1-3.
During the Board's intensive deliberations, the final stage of the recruitment process for the position of Junior Group Leader took place. An important part of the meeting was devoted to evaluating the research achievements of selected laboratories. Marta Miączyńska, Director of the Institute, presented a report on the Institute's activities over the past year and on the progress of RACE and RACE-PRIME. The IAB also provided recommendations for further strengthening the research and organizational capacity of the IIMCB. The Board met with all groups of IIMCB scientists, providing an opportunity to learn about the achievements and challenges of recent months.
A highlight of the event was the awarding of a doctoral diploma to Dr. Michał Brouze, Head of the Genome Engineering Unit at IIMCB. His dissertation defense, held in February 2025, was the first in the history of the Institute – making it a historic moment for IIMCB. The International Advisory Board serves as the official body entitled to award the doktor degree at the Institute.
