Prof. Jacek Jaworski appointed President of the Polish Neuroscience Society
Prof. Jacek Jaworski, Head of the Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology at IIMCB, has been elected President of the Polish Neuroscience Society (PTBUN) for the 2025–2027 term.
The decision was made during the General Assembly of PTBUN Members in Wrocław, where the election results were approved and the outgoing Board was granted discharge.

“I am grateful for this appointment – I see it as a commitment. PTBUN plays an important role in integrating the Polish neuroscience community and linking it to the international scientific landscape. As President, my goal is to further strengthen this role, foster inter-laboratory collaborations, and support young researchers who represent the future of our discipline. At the same time, I am committed to enhancing PTBUN’s cooperation with other scientific societies in Poland and abroad, as well as with patient organizations, so that PTBUN members can fully realize their great potential and engage in the European Partnership for Brain Health,” commented Prof. Jacek Jaworski.
The Polish Neuroscience Society brings together scientists working in neurobiology and related fields. The organization represents Poland in the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) and the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO), and organizes conferences, workshops, and summer schools.
