IIMCB and LIFE BioCEEd sign Memorandum of Cooperation to strengthen technology transfer in the life sciences

The International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw and the biotechnological investment & venture-building company LIFE BioCEEd (Prague, Czech Republic) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at accelerating the transfer of scientific discoveries into applications with impact on healthcare, new medical technologies and biotechnology.

The collaboration will focus on identifying promising research findings and supporting researchers through the critical stages of project development. Both institutions will work on preparing technologies for further investment, developing intellectual property (IP) protection strategies and risk management. The parties also intend to organize and participate in professional workshops, seminars and conferences.

“IIMCB combines the pursuit of scientific excellence with a clear vision expressed in the RACE program – RNA and Cell Biology: from Fundamental Research to Therapies,” said Prof. Marta Miączyńska, Director of IIMCB and signatory of the memorandum. “I believe that cooperation with LIFE BioCEEd, especially its experience in early-stage project development, can advance discoveries originating from our research.”

“We look forward to sharing our experience with such a renowned and talent-driven basic research institution as IIMCB. We recognize the potential synergy between our entities, which can pave the way from laboratory benches to real-world solutions serving patients,” said Stefan Savić,  Chief Executive Officer of LIFE BioCEEd.

The partnership is managed  by Dr. Kornelia Mikuła head of IIMCB’s Technology Transfer Office. “We see clear value in joining forces with a partner experienced in valorization of academic research, in this way we can maximize the  potential of inventions developed at IIMCB. We also look forward to creating educational and mentoring programs for young scientists,” said Dr. Kornelia Mikuła.
