On Saturday, September 22, 2012, the 1st Laboratory Picnic took place to celebrate the 10th birthday of BioCEN! The joyful atmosphere of experimentation was contagious to all. Regardless of age, everyone: children, parents and grandparents wanted to learn how to pipette, isolate, spin and vortex! They isolated DNA from kiwi fruit, studied lactase and catalase activity and enjoyed using laboratory equipment. Everyone could see real GMOs and learn the basics of biotechnology. All activities were carried under the watchful eye of BioCEN team.
