The Ministry of Science and Higher Education has announced the results of the call for strategic research infrastructures to be included on the  Polish Roadmap for Research Infrastructures. Among the initiatives selected for the updated Roadmap is the IN-MOL-CELL Core Facilities Programme developed by our Institute.

IN-MOL-CELL is an integrated research infrastructure comprising 10 specialised core facilities. It provides researchers and external partners with access to advanced equipment, expert advice and comprehensive research services – from bioinformatics, genomics, cellular models and organoids, and CRISPR/Cas9 animal models, through embryology services, microscopy, flow cytometry, biophysics and mass spectrometry, to protein production, macromolecular structure analysis, and the breeding and phenotyping of animal models.

The development of IN-MOL-CELL includes major investments in state-of-the-art research equipment, amounting to PLN 80 million in 2024–2026. The infrastructure is supported by European Union funding, including NextGenerationEU under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the Horizon Europe “Teaming for Excellence” programme, and the International Research Agendas programme funded under the European Funds for Smart Economy 2021–2027 (FENG).

IN-MOL-CELL’s inclusion on the  Polish Roadmap for Research Infrastructures confirms its strategic importance to Poland’s research and innovation system. In practical terms, it also strengthens opportunities for the infrastructure’s further development and funding.

The  Polish Roadmap for Research Infrastructures comprises existing and planned research infrastructures of strategic importance for the development of scientific research, economic innovation and international cooperation.
