Postdoctoral Researcher positions in Laboratory of RNA-Protein Interactions - Dioscuri Centre

Laboratory of RNA-Protein Interactions - Dioscuri Centre https://shorturl.at/AHPW3 at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB), Warsaw, headed by prof. dr hab. Gracjan Michlewski, is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher.

You will join the project entitled You will join the project entitled “Biological control and pharmacological regulation of RNAs implicated in aetiology of Parkinson’s disease” carried out from 2024 to 2028 as the OPUS grant (UMO-2023/49/B/NZ1/02456) of the National Science Centre, Poland.

The primary aim of this project is to analyse and modulate the interactions between HuR (ELAVL1) and RNA, which play a crucial role in regulating the expression of alpha-Syn, a key protein linked to Parkinson's disease (PD) pathology. To achieve this objective, we are assembling a diverse team of researchers and collaborators who will utilize various human cells and well as novel C. elegans PD model.

As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will be involved in characterizing the biological control and pharmacological regulation of HuR-RNA interactions in human neuronal cells, as well as in a C. elegans PD model incorporating a human alpha-Syn transgene. Additionally, you will share responsibility for assessing selected compounds against HuR and C. elegans exc-7 (HuR ortholog). Ultimately, these investigations will help to uncover novel pathways and therapeutic approaches in PD and other diseases linked to abnormal gene expression and RNA metabolism.

The ideal candidate should be able to pursue challenging tasks and achieve objectives and collaborate with other researchers. Candidates will be selected in an open competition, according to the procedure complying with the rules of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers as a part of HR Excellence in Research strategy https://shorturl.at/fvBO5
