PhD Student position in the Laboratory of RNA Biology - ERA Chairs Group

Laboratory of RNA Biology at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB), Warsaw, headed by Professor Andrzej Dziembowski is looking for a PhD Student.

You will join the project entitled: “Oncogenic mechanisms of DIS3 mutations” which is carried out as the MAESTRO (UMO-2016/22/A/NZ4/00380) grant of the Polish National Science Centre. The aim of this project is to understand how mutations in DIS3 promote tumor formation.

Laboratory interest:  Research of the Laboratory of RNA Biology focuses on the regulation of gene expression at the posttranscriptional level. We are currently studying RNA biology at the organismal level using transgenic mouse lines as a main research model. Requirements for candidate:

  • MSc degree in biology, biotechnology or related area of science,
  • Experience in transcriptomic analyses,
  • Eligibility for PhD studies in Poland and PhD student status at the time of employment,
  • Written and spoken fluency in English,
  • Willingness to learn and take new challenges, ability to work independently, analytical thinking,
  • Commitment, reliability, accuracy and timeliness in the implementation of tasks,
  • Has analytical and forward-thinking skills.

  • Full-time PhD scholarship in amount:
  • a) before the mid-term evaluation 4500 pln net/month;
  • b) after mid-term evaluation approx. 5000 pln net/month ( the scholarship is funded from the project and the institute's internal funding)
