Laboratory of RNA-Protein Interactions - Dioscuri Centre https://shorturl.at/AHPW3 at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw (IIMCB), headed by prof. Gracjan Michlewski, is looking for a Research Specialist.
You will join the project entitled: “RNA and Cell Biology Platform for Research and Innovation in Medicine RACE-PRIME” FENG.02.01-IP.05-T003/23 under the International Research Agendas programme funded by the European Funds for Smart Economy programme for the position Research Specialist.
The primary aim of this programme is to develop novel, breakthrough approaches for the treatment of human diseases for which current treatments are insufficient or unavailable. With the RNA Platform we will focus on developing novel antiviral and antimicrobial therapeutic strategies. We will target RNA metabolism pathways controlling specific viruses and bacteria, but also look for unconventional broad-spectrum therapeutic interventions.
As a Research Specialist, you will be involved in screening and assembly of libraries of small molecules targeting host RNA-Protein interactions.
The ideal candidate should be able to pursue challenging tasks and achieve objectives and collaborate with other researchers. Requirements:
- Holds BSc or MSc degree in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, medicine or related field.
- Has hands on experience in virus-host interactions studies.
- Possesses advanced knowledge in molecular and cell biology.
- Has extensive laboratory experience, especially in techniques such as western blot, cell culture, small molecules screening and protein expression.
- Has been part of research that resulted in publications.
- Exhibits a willingness to acquire new skills and embrace challenges, demonstrating the ability to work independently and in a team.
- Has the ability to communicate (in English) complex information clearly, orally and in writing.
We offer:
- Full employment contract initially for 2 months, with the possibility of extension for the duration of the project
- The basic monthly salary between 5 800 - 6.120 PLN gross (the final monthly gross salary will be calculated individually during employment, considering the skills or length of experience). Additional bonuses such as Christmas bonus may supplement this salary.
