Laboratory of Protein Structure (https://shorturl.at/bFW37) at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB), Warsaw, headed by Prof. Marcin Nowotny, is looking for Research Specialist to join the project entitled “Structural and mechanistic studies of bacterial DNA repair”, which is carried out as the MAESTRO 2017/26/A/NZ1/01098 grant of the Polish National Science Centre.

The ideal candidate should be able to pursue challenging tasks and achieve objectives and collaborate with other researchers. As a Research Specialist: you will be responsible for purificaf DNA-binding proteins, their biochemical characterization and preparation of samples for structural studies (both for protein crystallography and cryo-EM)

Requirements:

1. Holds MSc preferably in biological sciences or a related discipline
2. Has expertise and technical competence in designing and conducting scientific experiments and in interpreting their results, in particular using structural and molecular biology methods to study nucleic acid enzymes
3. Has excellent interpersonal skills, initiative and ability to work independently and in a high-performance team
4. Has the ability to communicate (in English) complex information clearly, orally and in writing
5. Is commitment, reliability, accuracy and timeliness in the implementation of tasks
6. Has analytical and forward thinking skills 

We offer:

• Full employment contract initially for 9 months
• Gross monthly remuneration: 5360 PLN/month, net approx. 3980 PLN/month (the final monthly gross salary will be calculated individually during the employment process, taking into account the length of service).
