Genome Engineering Unit of the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology is inviting applications for a (Junior) Specialist responsible for genotyping and cloning
Genome Engineering Unit is one of the Core Facilities of the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology. Core facilities play an integral role in the Institute’s infrastructure, providing access to state-of-the-art research equipment and services to support the daily work of researchers from the Institute and external entities. One of the key services provided by the Genome Engineering Unit are genotyping of mouse lines generated by CRISPR/Cas9 and plasmid preparation. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Isolation of genomic and plasmid DNA (HotShot, Miniprep, Midiprep, isolation using magnetic beads)
- Preparation of PCR reactions, post-reaction clean-up, agarose gel electrophoresis
- Restriction enzyme digestion
- Cloning using SLIC method
- Preparation of sequencing reaction using SLIC method
- Analysis of sequencing results
Requirements for the candidate:
- Holds a BSc degree in biology, biotechnology, or a related field
- English language skills allowing to communicate freely in an international environment
- Practical knowledge of molecular biology methods, especially working with DNA (DNA isolation, including DNA isolation from animal samples, PCR)
- Very good organization of work, ability to set priorities
- Practical knowledge of genome engineering methods, especially plasmid preparation methods, will be an advantage
- Snap Gene program knowledge will be an advantage

- Civil-law contract (replacement employee), expected contract duration is 1.5 years
- Remuneration of 5200-6000 PLN per month (gross)
