in the Laboratory of RNA Biology - ERA Chairs Group

Laboratory of RNA Biology - ERA Chairs Group https://shorturl.at/lxI56 at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB), Warsaw, headed by Andrzej Dziembowski, Prof. is looking for two Postdoctoral Researchers/Researchers.

You will join the project entitled „Principles of endogenous and therapeutic mRNA turnover in vivo”, acronym ViveRNA (Project no 101097317) under Horizon Europe of the European Union, funded by the ERC Advanced Grant.

The exact nature of the project will depend on the skills, predispositions, and interests of the selected candidate. It may focus on:

  • analyzing data from direct RNA sequencing,
  • mastering of the DRS methodology in bioinformatic analysis,
  • analysis of principles of mRNA stability control and design of more efficient mRNA based therapeutics.

Candidates will be selected according to the procedure complying the rules of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers as a part of HR Excellence in Research strategy https://bit.ly/3U0dydP.

Requirements for the candidates:

  • Holds PhD degree in biology, medical sciences or a related discipline,
  • Experience in RNA biology
  • Documented extensive experience in animal models and/or molecular biology and/or bioinformatic analysis of transcriptomic data,
  • Expertise and technical competence in designing and carrying out scientific experiments and in interpreting their results,
  • Experience in the analysis of genomic clinical data
  • Written and spoken fluency in English,
  • Willingness to learn and take new challenges, ability to work independently, analytical thinking,
  • Commitment, reliability, accuracy and timeliness in the implementation of tasks,
  • Has analytical and forward-thinking skills.

We offer:

  1. Full-time employment contract initially for 12 months that could be extended up to 4 years,
  2. Gross monthly remuneration between approx. 9000,00 PLN – 12000,00 PLN (depending on candidate's experience)
  3. Position with 100% focus on research (no teaching obligations),

  6. Participation in courses, scientific training, support from peers, and academic mentoring.
