Prof. Marta Miączyńska, Director of IIMCB and Head of the Laboratory of Cell Biology, was awarded the Prime Minister's Award for outstanding scientific achievements in 2020. Prof. Miączyńska was recognized for acquiring new knowledge on mechanisms and proteins that coordinate membrane trafficking and signaling in normal and cancer cells and during cell differentiation.

This year the Prime Minister's Awards honored 42 scientists and one 13-member research team. Traditionally, awards were given in three categories: (I) outstanding doctoral dissertation, (II) highly commended scientific achievements that are the basis for awarding the degree of doctor of habilitation, and the most prestigious (III) for outstanding scientific achievements, including artistic creation or implementation activity.
