Prof. Marta Miączyńska, director of the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw, was appointed a member of the EMBO Council. Prof. Miączyńska will perform this function in the years 2021-2023.

EMBO is an organization of more than 1800 leading researchers that promotes excellence in the life sciences in Europe and beyond. The major goals of the organization are to support talented researchers at all stages of their careers, stimulate the exchange of scientific information, and help build a research environment where scientists can achieve their best work.

EMBO Council is the governing body of EMBO, responsible for ensuring the development of the organization. It consists of 15 members who serve for a period of three years and who may be reelected for one additional term of office.
