In a joint action with the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics PAS, the Mossakowski Medical Research Centre PAS and the Institute of Genetics and Biotechnology of the University of Warsaw, IIMCB has been involved in organizing and launching a new COVID-19 diagnostic laboratory. The laboratory is headed by Prof. Urszula Demkow from the University Clinical Centre, Warsaw Medical University and localized on the Banacha hospital campus.

Our Institute provided this newly established laboratory with furniture and basic laboratory equipment (e.g. centrifuges, pipettes). Under this joint initiative, the first volunteers of IIMCB have started conducting diagnostic tests for COVID-19. These tests are based on RT-PCR and conducted on inactivated material. More volunteers will be involved during the following weeks. It demonstrates the social responsibility of scientists and our solidarity with the medical community.
