The President of the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, Dr. Alicja Adamczak presented the honorary badges "For Merits for Inventiveness". One of the two distinguished institutions was the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw, on its behalf Dr. Urszula Białek-Wyrzykowska, Deputy Director for Development received the honorary badge. Among the distinguished scientists was Prof. Janusz M. Bujnicki, Head of the Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Protein Engineering, who was appreciated individually for his special merits in the field of inventiveness.

The ceremony of awarding honorary distinctions took place at a conference organized by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland on the occasion of the World Intellectual Property Day.
