The International Advisory Board meeting took place on March 21-22, 2019. The first day was devoted to the ERA Chairs Group Leader competition. It started with the MOSaIC kick-off meeting and the presentation of this ERA Chairs H2020 project by its coordinator, Jacek Kuźnicki. The meeting was followed by the ERA Chairs Research Symposium. Four top candidates for the ERA Chairs Group Leader position gave research seminars:

Lunch with all IIMCB staff members was the occasion to thank and honor Maciej Żylicz, Head of the Department of Molecular Biology in years 2000-2018, for his outstanding contribution to the development of the Institute and building its international recognition.
On the second day, the Board met with PhD students and postdocs. Then Marcin Nowotny gave an open evaluation lecture entitled Indirect readout of nucleic acid sequence and structure in DNA repair. During the closed session, Jacek Kuźnicki reported to the Board IIMCB’s and MOSaIC’s activities in 2018 and the Director, Marta Miączyńska, presented scientific strategy for the development of the Institute.
