The International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw and the Polish Academy of Sciences invite participants for workshop the objective of which is to prepare scientists for the process of application for grants of the European Research Council (ERC).
In the period 2007-2013 (7th Framework Programme) Poland received only 14 out of a total of 4322 grants awarded by the ERC. Following two years of the implementation of the ‘Horizon 2020’ programme, the situation shows no improvement – Polish scientific research units received only 7 out of almost 2000 awarded ERC grants. If this trend continued, it would mean that by the end of H2020 Poland will receive grants for about 20 projects, which accounts for less than 0.3% of all grants awarded by the ERC.
In response to this problem we propose a workshop, during which laureates and evaluators of ERC grants will share their experiences, using the support of people who deal with the formal aspects of providing these grants. The first part of the meeting, will consist of lectures and discussions, where experts will deliver their presentations. During the second part of the meeting, selected people will have an opportunity to consult their research ideas during individual consultation sessions with the invited experts. They will also receive guidelines concerning formal and legal aspects applicable to the preparation of ERC projects.
We strongly invite potential ERC grant applicants to register for this workshop. To confirm your application, please contact the Scientific Excellence Bureau (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) until September 9, 2016. The net cost of participation in the workshop is PLN 50 (this includes the cost of catering for participants). Please be informed that due to the limited number of seats we reserve the right to make a selection of submitted applications. The workshop will be held in English.
