One of the objectives of the FishMed project was organisation of a new research group. The Laboratory of Zebrafish Developmental Genomics, Max Planck/IIMCB Research Group[nbsp] is now fully operational. The laboratory is dedicated to the study of developmental processes by applying genomics methods in combination with experimental embryology, genetics, and biochemistry.
Cecilia Lanny Winata, PhD, Head of Laboratory of Zebrafish Developmental Genomics is a new group leader selected during an open international competition organised jointly with the Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research (MPI-HLR) in Bad Nauheim, IIMCB’s strategic partner for the creation and development of the FishMed Centre.
The group located in IIMCB has full access to MPI-HLR equipment, animal facilities and genetic modification techniques for zebrafish and mice. The expertise of Winata and her group will help achieve a critical mass for the development of competitive and innovative zebrafish projects.
