Prof. Jacek Kuźnicki, one of the Consortium partners together with Dr. Marta Wiśniewska, hosted partners from abroad:[nbsp] colleagues from the Institute of Experimental Medicine, Max Planck Society; [nbsp]from Hannover Medical School, colleagues from the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases within the Helmholtz Association , colleagues form University of Valencia, Cell Biology Department and colleagues from IRCCS Santa Lucia Foundation, Department of Clinical and Behavioural Neurology. The event was inaugurated by an open seminar “Shifting paradigms in neuropsychiatry”, delivered by Prof. Hannelore Ehrenreich form the Institute of Experimental Medicine, Max Planck Society. [nbsp]
The aim of the Consortium creation was to search for novel strategies for the treatment of schizophrenia based on genetic variation of the neural cell adhesion molecule NCAM and enzymes involved in its posttranslational modifications. After the open seminar partners discussed their so far research progress and research plans for the future.[nbsp]
