Prof. Janusz Bujnicki, Head of Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Protein Engineering has received funding from European Innovation Council (EIC) in a prestigious TRANSITION programme.
The project entitled "INCYPRO: A key technology to enable the broad application of proteins in diagnostics and therapeutics" is led by Incircular, a Dutch spin-off company from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, with IIMCB as the only partner. The project aims to provide a universal solution for protein stabilization for biotechnological and biomedical applications based on technology developed by Incircular. Prof. Bujnicki and his team will be involved in the development of the key computational tool. The EIC has granted 2 498 750 EUR to this project, of which 201 250 EUR is for IIMCB.
The EIC has been established recently under the EU Horizon Europe programme. It aims to support game changing innovations throughout the lifecycle from early stage research, to proof of concept, technology transfer, and the financing and scale up of start-ups and SMEs.
