Academia Europaea is a non-profit charitable organization operating in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 1988 on the initiative of the British Royal Society and other National Academies in Europe. The Academy brings together representatives of the Council of Europe countries and other nations from around the world. Its members, currently about 5,000, are distinguished scientists representing the full range of academic disciplines.

The Academy organizes many meetings and workshops and provides scientific advice. It publishes the international journal European Review and is affiliated with Biology Direct. It runs regional knowledge centers in Barcelona, Bergen, Budapest, Cardiff, Munich, Tbilisi and Wroclaw, hosted by universities and national academies.
