The Minister of Education and Science granted Prof. Andrzej Dziembowski the award for significant achievements in scientific activities

Prof. Andrzej Dziembowski is a molecular biologist, biochemist, and geneticist. He has made a significant contribution to the studies on the regulation of post-transcriptional mechanism of gene expression, and particularly on the role of exoribonucleases in the processing and degradation of RNA and polyadenylation.

He has published scientific articles in prestigious journals related to molecular biology: “Nature”, “Cell”, “Nature Structural and Molecular Biology”, “Nature Communications”, “Genes and Development”, “Molecular Cell”, “EMBO Journal”, “EMBO Reports”. 

Prof. Dziembowski leads the Laboratory of RNA Biology - ERA Chairs Group at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw. He is also a professor at the Biology Faculty of the University of Warsaw, and a member of EMBO, the Academia Europaea, and the Polish Academia of Science. 

For his previous work, he received two Prime Minister Awards, the National Science Centre Award, the Award of Foundation for Polish Science, and the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
