The MOSaIC’s goal is to create at IIMCB the Interdisciplinary Centre of Excellence in molecular signaling. To this end we will strive for scientific and organizational development of the Institute. We will establish a new laboratory headed by an outstanding Group Leader and introduce structural improvements in science and institutional management, according to best international standards.

ERA Chairs action is a prestigious EU Horizon 2020 granting scheme addressed to entities from Widening countries with the high innovative potential, able to attract top-level scientists, to raise standards and to reach excellence comparable to the best centres in the European Research Area (ERA). The ERA Chairs actions support universities or research organisations with the objective of attracting and maintaining high quality human resources under the direction of an outstanding researcher and research manager (the "ERA Chair holder") and in parallel implementing the structural changes necessary to achieve excellence on a sustainable basis. IIMCB has been awarded the MOSaIC project under ERA Chairs 2017 call. With this distinction our Institute is among 13 European laureates and the only entity in Poland funded in this call.
