The International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw is looking for a Specialist in the Scientific Coordination Unit.



Job description:

  • Preparation and submission of applications for contained uses of GMOs and GMMs and reporting tasks in this respect.

  • Assistance in preparation, verification and submission of applications to the Local Ethics Committee for Animal Experimentation, keeping records of animal experiments performed.

  • Issuing personal permits for animal work. Preparation of annual animal usage reports.

  • Support and advice for scientists in completing the ethics section in grants’ applications.

  • Support for the Institute's staff in the field of intellectual property rights protection, patenting and commercialization.

  • Support for researchers on preparation of MTAs agreement.

  • Administrative support for PhD students and ongoing cooperation with doctoral studies and doctoral schools.

  • Gathering and sharing information concerning individual awards and scholarships. Assistance in filling in and submitting applications, reporting in POL-on system.

  • Conducting annual competitions for the best publications authored by IIMCB staff or students.

  • Support for occupational H&S team in providing training for employees (working with material of human or animal origin, GMMs/GMOs, hazardous substances, etc.) and preparing appropriate H&S documentation (risk assessments, SOPs, GLPs).

  • Participation in the annual reports’ preparation and organization of the International Advisory Board meetings.

  • International cooperation in science dissemination tasks and training for doctoral students and researchers.

  • Preparation of selected information for scientific evaluation of the Institute.


Requirements for the candidate:

  • MSc degree (preferably in biological sciences or related discipline).

  • Minimum two years of experience on a similar position.

  • Experience in activities related to the protection of intellectual property rights, patenting and commercialisation.

  • Very good written/ oral Polish and English skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Familiarity with the specific nature of scientific working environment.

  • Independence, commitment, initiative in action and high organizational skills.

  • Skills of analytical and strategic thinking.

  • Reliability, meticulousness, accuracy and timeliness in the implementation of tasks.

  • Openness, ease in establishing contacts and strong teamwork skills.
