On November 6, 2014 President of the Republic of Poland Bronisław Komorowski presented professorial appointments for 61 academic teachers, employees of science and art. In the group of nominees was Agnieszka Chacińska, Head of the Laboratory of Mitochondrial Biogenesis.

IIMCB decided to sign the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA), the document created by The American Society for Cell Biology in 2012 containing a set of recommendations on improving the way in which the quality of research output is evaluated.
