On April 4-5 2014, IIMCB is hosting a meeting of the Life, Environmental and Geo Sciences (LEGS) panel of Science Europe, an association of European Research Funding Organisations and Research Performing Organisations, based in Brussels.

On April 1, 2014 President of the Republic of Poland Bronisław Komorowski presented professorial appointments for 35 academic teachers, employees of science and art. One of the nominees was Jacek Jaworski, Head of the Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology.

President of the Republic of Poland has just signed the changes in the Public Procurement Law. The purpose of the amendment to the Act is to help eliminate barriers to growth in innovation and research in Poland. Scientists from IIMCB were first who took photographs symbolizing the limitations of the Public Procurement Law.

Prof. Siemionow will deliver a lecture entitled ,,Terapie komórkowe w medycynie regeneracyjnej i transplantologii’’, which will be held on March 26, 2014 at 10:00 at the IBIB Lecture Hall, 4 Trojdena Street, Warsaw. We would like to kindly inform that the lecture will be in Polish.

Prof. Janusz M. Bujnicki, Head of the Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Protein Engineering at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw has initiated a 'More Good Science' action (akcja Więcej Dobrej Nauki). Its purpose is to offer free help to researchers struggling with scientific grant applications.

The International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology has acquired Lightsheet Z.1, state-of-the-art fluorescence microscope. It works on the principle of single-plane illumination microscopy (SPIM). Lightsheet Z.1 has been bought from the funds provided by the FishMed project. It is the first such a microscope in Poland.

Dr. Magdalena Czeredys from the Laboratory of Neurodegeneration received funding from Foundation of Polish Science within the PARENT/BRIDGE Programme.

Dr. Marcin Nowotny, Head of Laboratory of Protein Structure will represent Eastern Europe during the Opening Ceremony of the International Year of Crystallography. Dr. Nowotny and his research will be presented in a session ’’Young talented crystallographers of the World’’.
