About the project:
Maintenance of an appropriate iron balance is essential for the correct functioning of the organism, and thus an increasing knowledge of the genetic control of iron homeostasis is important for human health. To prevent iron-overload diseases, excessive iron levels must be correctly sensed to stimulate expression of the iron-regulatory hormone hepcidin that limits further iron absorption from the diet. The objective of our work is to better understand the process of iron-sensing in the liver. We are seeking to identify still elusive mechanisms that control iron-triggered induction of bone morphogenetic protein 6 (BMP6), a key iron-sensing cytokine produced by the liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs) that stimulates hepcidin production.  Our preliminary data suggest that a factor secreted by iron-loaded hepatocytes rather than iron deposition in LSECs serves as a signal to enhance endothelial BMP6 expression. Using cell lines and primary liver cell cultures, we are now characterizing one candidate protein that may mediate communication between iron-laden hepatocytes and LSECs. We expect that our work which will shed light on a novel iron-sensing mechanism in the liver, that leads to induction of the BMP6-hepcidin axis.

CONCEPT AND OBJECTIVES
Creation of the Interdisciplinary Centre of Excellence in Molecular Signaling in Health and Disease (MOSaIC)
The ERA Chairs scheme gives us a unique opportunity to improve our performance by attracting an outstanding principal investigator in molecular signaling. This investigator will complement and strengthen the current research lines at IIMCB and will influence structural changes for responsible research and effective science management.
The MOSaIC has 5 objectives. The first is recruitment of an ERA Chair holder and affiliates in an open process that involves a set of incentives for the successful candidate to establish an excellent research group. The second is to augment scientific research and innovation in IIMCB and surrounding region through the work of the ERA Chair holder in molecular signaling, a field with great promise for medical advancement. The third and fourth involve structural improvements in science management and consolidated HR activities to develop a research environment that meets the highest international standards, including those set in the EU Charter and Code. Dissemination and communication activities will enable us to achieve the fifth objective: widespread recognition of the MOSaIC and IIMCB among national and European stakeholders.
Thanks to the MOSaIC, IIMCB scientists will lead innovative and internationally competitive research in an environment of excellent organizational standards and support. They will engage in European partnerships, and their projects will lead to practical inventions.


WORK PLAN

Project coordinator: Jacek Kuźnicki, IIMCB Director

WP 1. Recruitment of the ERA Chair holder and new group members
Leader: Marcin Nowotny, Head of Laboratory of Protein Structure

We will recruit an outstanding mid-career scientist with proven leadership experience for a Senior Group Leader position. The ERA Chair holder will be provided with the best conditions for research, including optimal laboratory and office space, free access to equipment, and additional benefits. Once recruited, the new Group Leader will autonomously build his or her own research group. The above activities will be coordinated by Marcin Nowotny, Head of the Laboratory of Protein Structure. The recruitment process of the ERA Chair holder will involve active participation of IIMCB International Advisory Board and the Head of HR Unit. The latter will also thoroughly support the ERA Chair holder in the recruitment of new laboratory members.

WP 2. Strengthening scientific and innovation potential of IIMCB and the surrounding region
Leader: ERA Chair holder

To boost IIMCB research and innovation, increase its competitiveness, and stay connected with partners across Europe, the ERA Chair holder and their group will generate excellent results of their own research in the field of molecular signalling in health and disease and to contribute to the overall position of IIMCB in the scientific, local, regional, and European landscape. For the scientific functioning of the new group (especially in the initial phase), the ERA Chair Holder will be mentored by Dr. Nowotny. All formal, administrative, and financial arrangements will be assisted by the corresponding administrative units: the Grants Office, Scientific Coordination, Accounting, HR, public relations, and IT.

WP 3. Structural changes for effective science management at IIMCB
Leader: Urszula Bialek-Wyrzykowska, Deputy Director for Development

To support research and innovation at IIMCB, we will improve specific internal policies by expanding and/or adopting them to national and European recommendations, including ERA priorities. The proposed structural changes cover 3 distinct areas in good scientific practices (OA, ODM, ethics) and IPR management at the Institute. They fall under responsibility of the Deputy Director for Development, Urszula Bialek-Wyrzykowska, who will be the WP3 Leader. She will be assisted by dedicated personnel from the Scientific Coordination Unit and the Institute’s IPR manager. A key element will be conceptual input and advice on the implementation of WP3 tasks from the ERA Chair holder.

WP4. Structural changes for more effective implementation of C&C principles
Leader: Katarzyna Fiedorowicz, Head of Human Resources Unit

To implement the EU Charter & Code principles in a comprehensive way and to respond to our scientists’ needs, we will enhance the functioning of the HR Unit to give a professional rank to EU C&C-related activities and to develop them systematically. These include elaboration of the HR Strategy for IIMCB, assisting scientists in recruitment processes, organization of 5 career development training sessions for IIMCB employee groups, support to foreign employees during their stay in Poland, efficient conflict solving and coordination of gender issues. For effective implementation of these ambitious assignments, before the start date of MOSaIC, we recruited an experienced, full-time Head of HR Unit, Ms. Katarzyna Fiedorowicz, who assumes the role of WP4 Leader. Ms. Fiedorowicz will be engaged in recruitment of the ERA Chair holder and group members.

WP5. Strengthening MOSaIC’s recognition among national and European stakeholders.
Leader: Daria Gos, PR Manager

Dissemination, application, and communication activities are indispensable elements that maximize the impact of MOSaIC’s achievements. Along with RRI principles, we will explore various means of dissemination and communication and will target numerous communities. The tasks assigned to WP5 will be overseen by experienced PR Manager, Daria Gos. WP5 tasks include Dissemination of MOSaIC results by the ERA Chair holder and group members to scientists and potential business partners, dissemination of results of structural improvements, communicating MOSaIC and its results to different stakeholders and elaboration of promotional tools and materials.

WP6. Management
Leader: Dorota Libiszowska, Head of Grants Office

The work involves high-level coordination and management of the project, including monitoring of work progress and assessment of the implementation of distinct WPs. Project monitoring will be done by the Project Committee that consists of the Project Coordinator and WP Leaders. Project Committee will meet annually to monitor work progress, discuss strategic steps, and respond to unexpected situations. These meetings will involve members of the International Advisory Board who will assess how the project helps achieve the strategic goals set up for IIMCB and will formulate recommendations for further development. IAB will play a crucial role in the selection process of the ERA Chair holder, it will assess the scientific achievements and progress of the new group.

Meta Platforms Inc, LinkedIn Corporation, X Corp., Google LLC, na co Administrator nie ma wpływu.

USŁUGI PODMIOTÓW TRZECICH

  1. Strona Internetowa może zawierać funkcje lub łącza przekierowujące do witryn i usług dostarczanych przez osoby trzecie, które nie są przez nas zarządzane. Informacje, które podajesz na tych stronach lub usługach, będą podlegać ich własnej polityce prywatności i procedurom przetwarzania danych. 
  2. Administrator nie ponosi odpowiedzialności za procedury związane z przetwarzaniem przez niezależnych Administratorów stron internetowych i dostawców usług. 
  3. Zachęcamy do zapoznania się z polityką prywatności i bezpieczeństwa stron trzecich przed przekazaniem im informacji. 

 

OCHRONA DANYCH

  1. Administrator podejmuje wszelkie adekwatne środki, aby upewnić się, że zakres Danych Osobowych Użytkowników, które Przetwarza jest ograniczony do Danych Osobowych adekwatnie wymaganych w celach wskazanych w niniejszej Polityce. 

 

MIĘDZYNARODOWY TRANSFER DANYCH

Dane osobowe mogą być udostępniane i przetwarzane poza Europejskim Obszarem Gospodarczym (Europejski Obszar Gospodarczy stanowią: Unia Europejska oraz Islandia, Liechtenstein i Norwegia, łącznie „EOG”). Jeśli dane osobowe są przekazywane poza EOG, Administrator wymaga odpowiednich zabezpieczeń. Administrator wypełni swoje obowiązki wynikające z rozdziału V RODO, tak by zapewnić prawidłowość tego rodzaju przetwarzania.

 

OKRES PRZECHOWYWANIA DANYCH

  1. Kryteria determinujące długość trwania okresu, w którym Administrator przechowuje Dane Osobowe Użytkowników są następujące: Administrator przechowuje Dane Osobowe Użytkowników w formie pozwalającej na identyfikację, tylko tak długo, jak jest to konieczne dla osiągniecia celów wskazanych w niniejszej Polityce, chyba że przepisy prawa powszechnie obowiązującego wymagają dłuższego okresu przechowywania Danych Osobowych. Administrator może, w szczególności, przechowywać Dane Osobowe Użytkowników przez cały okres konieczny do ustalenia, skorzystania lub obrony roszczeń (przedawnienie roszczeń zgodnie z art. 118 Kodeksu Cywilnego).

    a. w zakresie wewnętrznych celów Administratora gdzie podstawą prawną przetwarzania jest uzasadniony interes Administratora, dane osobowe będą przechowywane do czasu wypełnienia prawnie uzasadnionych interesów Administratora stanowiących podstawę przetwarzania danych lub wcześniejszego złożenia sprzeciwu wobec takiego przetwarzania, po dokonaniu przez Administratora właściwej analizy interesu Użytkownika i podstaw przetwarzania Administratora;
    b. w przypadku danych przetwarzanych na naszym Fanpagu do czasu rezygnacji z dalszego obserwowania/komentowania naszego Fanpage np. poprzez kliknięcie „nie lubię”, cofnięcie polubienia wpisu lub usunięcie komentarza do wpisu, anulowanie Subskrypcji.

  1. Administrator korzysta z narzędzia Google Analytics dostarczanego przez Google LLC, którego infrastruktura znajduje się w Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Irlandia. Administrator wskazuje, że Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California 94043, USA) przystąpiło do Porozumienia EU-US Data Privacy Framework, tj. zapewnia odpowiedni poziom bezpieczeństwa przetwarzania danych osobowych, zgodnie z RODO.
    1. Google Analytics pozwala na:
    2. Śledzenie ruchu na stronie: informacje o liczbie użytkowników, liczbie odwiedzin, źródłach wejść (np. reklamy, wyszukiwarki, media społecznościowe).
    3. Monitorowanie zachowań użytkowników: analiza, które strony są najczęściej odwiedzane, czas spędzony na stronie, współczynnik odrzuceń (bounce rate).

    2. Pliki cookie: przechowujące unikalne identyfikatory użytkowników oraz sesji, umożliwiające śledzenie ich aktywności, tylko po wyrażeniu odpowiedniej zgody przez Użytkownika
    3. Dane techniczne: np. typ przeglądarki, system operacyjny, rozdzielczość ekranu, dostawca usług internetowych.
  4. Administrator korzysta z funkcji anonimizacji adresów IP, co wyłącza możliwość identyfikacji Użytkowników (ostatni oktet adresu IP jest maskowany przed przechowywaniem lub przetwarzaniem danych).
  5. Administrator przetwarza dane przy użyciu wskazanego narzędzia w celu dostarczania analiz i raportów na temat ruchu na stronie oraz efektywności działań marketingowych na podstawie uzasadnionego interesu Administratora oraz zgody Użytkownika (akceptacja plików cookies Google Analytics). Administrator zawarł stosowną umowę powierzenia przetwarzania danych z Google (Data Processing Agreement), regulującą w sposób wymagany przepisami prawa kwestię bezpieczeństwa danych.
  6. Administrator korzysta z trybu Consent Mode pozwalającego na mierzenie ruchu i konwersji na Stronie Internetowej również w przypadku, gdy Użytkownik nie wyrazi zgody na zapisywanie plików cookie, przy jednoczesnym zachowaniu pełnej zgodności z wymogami RODO, gdzie zaimplementowany zostaje kod śledzenia umożliwiający zbieranie tylko podstawowych, zanonimizowanych i zagregowanych danych dotyczących czasu wizyty na Stronie Internetowej, informacji o stronie odsyłającej oraz pozwalający na mierzenie konwersji z kampanii reklamowych. W ramach prawa dostępu do danych osoba, której dane dotyczą, może również żądać informacji o tym, komu udostępniane są jej dane osobowe oraz czy podlegają one profilowaniu i zautomatyzowanemu procesowi podejmowania decyzji. Osoba, której dane dotyczą ma także prawo uzyskania kopii jej danych.
    b. prawo do sprostowania danych – na tej podstawie, Administrator, na wniosek osoby której dane dotyczą, usuwa ewentualne niezgodności lub błędy dotyczące przetwarzanych danych osobowych, oraz uzupełnia je lub aktualizuje, jeśli są niekompletne lub uległy zmianie;
    c. prawo do usunięcia danych – na tej podstawie, Administrator na żądanie osoby której dane dotyczą usuwa dane, których przetwarzanie nie jest już niezbędne do realizowania żadnego z celów, dla których zostały zebrane, cofnięto zgodę na ich przetwarzanie lub wniesiono sprzeciw i nie jest to wymagane dla ustalenia, dochodzenia lub obrony roszczeń Administratora;
    d. prawo do ograniczenia i przenoszenia przetwarzania – na tej podstawie, Administrator na wniosek osoby której dane dotyczą, zaprzestaje dokonywania operacji na tych danych osobowych, w odpowiadającym prawu zakresie a także wydaje te dane osobowe, w formacie pozwalającym na ich odczyt przez komputer;
    e. prawo do wniesienia skargi – korzystając z tego prawa osoba która uzna, że jej dane osobowe są przetwarzane niezgodnie z obowiązującym prawem, może wnieść skargę do Prezesa Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych (ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa);
    f. prawo wniesienia sprzeciwu – osoba, której dane dotyczą, może w każdym czasie sprzeciwić się przetwarzaniu danych osobowych w celach dla których zostały zebrane i są przetwarzane;
    g. prawo wycofania zgody – jeżeli przetwarzamy dane osobowe na podstawie udzielonej zgody, wówczas w każdej chwili osoba której dane dotyczą może wycofać tę zgodę. Cofnięcie wyrażonej zgody nie powoduje, że przetwarzanie danych osobowych do tego momentu było nielegalne, odwołanie zgody nie wpływa na zgodność z prawem dotychczasowego przetwarzania jednak spowoduje, że dane osobowe nie będą więcej używane do tych celów od momentu wycofania zgody.

  • doing statistics by presenting data about the display of our posts, their reach, the number of interactions, the demographics of our observers; the data presented to us by the owners of social networks is statistical, but it is created based on the observation by this company of your behaviour on our Fanpage.

  • processing is carried out on the basis of User's prior, voluntary, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent to the Processing;
  • processing is necessary for the performance of the contract that the User has entered into or intends to enter into with the Administrator;
  • processing is necessary to fulfil a legal obligation of the Administrator;
  • processing is necessary to protect the vital interests of any individual;
  • processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller;
  • the processing is necessary for the purpose of managing, conducting and promoting Administrator's business and does not cause prejudice to the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the User.

Purposes of Personal Data Processing: The purposes for which the Administrator may process Users' Personal Data are as follows:

  • Administrator's Website: running and managing the Website, presenting its content; publishing information, communicating and interacting with Users, employees and contractors, as well as potential employees or collaborators, via the

III. Sharing Personal Data with Third Parties

The Administrator may share Users' Personal Data to:

The entity processing Personal Data of Users obtained through the Website is the company perfekcyjneStrony.pl Łukasz Krzyżoszczak (NIP: 6991935805), being the creator of this Website, and also providing technical support services to the Administrator in connection with the use of the Website. This entity stores and processes Users' Personal Data acquired during Users' use of the Website. The entity processing Personal Data shall ensure the full security of Users' Personal Data through the use of innovative and adequate technical and organizational measures. The entity processing Personal Data may not use Users' Personal Data provided to it for purposes other than those for which it was entrusted to it by the Administrator. The Administrator has entered into an agreement with the entity processing Personal Data for the entrustment of the processing of Personal Data, on the basis of which the entity processing Personal Data has been obliged to comply with the requirements for the protection of Users' Personal Data.

IV. International Transfer of Personal Data

The Administrator does not transfer and does not intend to transfer any Users' Personal Data to third countries that are not members of the European Union or to international organizations. If necessary, this Privet Policy will be modified, and the transfer of Users' Personal Data will be allowed only on the basis of standard contractual provisions that the Administrator will implement before transferring such Personal Data. In this case, Users will be entitled to request a copy of the standard contractual terms and conditions applied by the Administrator, using the contact information indicated in Section XI below.

V. Data Protection

VI. Data Accuracy

The Administrator shall take all adequate measures to ensure that:

  • all Users' Personal Data that the Administrator processes are accurate and, if necessary, up-to-date;
  • all Users' Personal Data that are processed by the Administrator that are erroneous (given the purpose for which they are processed) will be deleted or corrected without undue delay.

The Administrator, at any time, may ask Users about the accuracy of the Processed Personal Data.

VII. Minimizing the Scope of Data

The Administrator shall take all adequate measures to ensure that the scope of Users' Personal Data that it processes is limited to Personal Data adequately required for the purposes indicated in this Privet Policy.
