The case study of an undescribed disease of the nervous system - modeling of human diseases in the nematode C.elegans" was the title of the speech given by Dr. Wojciech Pokrzywa, Head of the Protein Metabolism Laboratory of IIMCB. The lecture took place during the recent Congress of Rare Diseases on 14.10.2022 in Cracow.

The speech concerned the use of a model organism - C.elegans - in rare disease research. There were also presented the results of two projects related to ubiquitin ligase and lipid transporter mutations and the resulting disorders in the nervous system and accelerated aging.

The presentation was carried out within the framework of the project "Cellular adaptation to cold" (CellCOLD), National Science Center, GRIEG project, no. 2019/34/H/NZ3/00691, funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014 - 2021.
