The first degree team award granted by Prof. Tomasz Szapiro, Rector of the Warsaw School of Economics for monograph entitled “Medical, psychological, sociological and economic aspects of ageing in Poland”.

Dr. Magdalena Czeredys from the Laboratory of Neurodegeneration received funding from Foundation of Polish Science within the PARENT/BRIDGE Programme.

Dr. Marcin Nowotny, Head of Laboratory of Protein Structure will represent Eastern Europe during the Opening Ceremony of the International Year of Crystallography. Dr. Nowotny and his research will be presented in a session ’’Young talented crystallographers of the World’’.

Prof. Janusz M. Bujnicki, Head of the Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Protein Engineering at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw has initiated a 'More Good Science' action (akcja Więcej Dobrej Nauki). Its purpose is to offer free help to researchers struggling with scientific grant applications.
